Just say it.
Hold a key, talk, and let go. BirdChatter writes what you said into whatever app you’re in. It’s transcribed locally on your Mac so your data never leaves your machine.
Hold ⌥ Option, or press and hold this key. The preview plays sample sentences and doesn't use your microphone.

Insights
The Insights page shows your speaking speed, how much time you've saved over typing, which apps you talk into most, and a streak for every day you dictate.
It learns the words you use
Add names and jargon to your dictionary. If you fix a misheard word right after dictating, BirdChatter notices and offers to remember it. Import and export as JSON or CSV.
What you say stays on your Mac
-
No account
Download it, grant two permissions, and start talking.
-
No network after setup
The speech model downloads once. Everything after that happens on the Neural Engine.
-
Your files, in plain JSON
History, dictionary and stats sit in a folder you choose, iCloud Drive included.
-
Never reads password fields
To learn your fixes, it briefly reads the field you just dictated into. Password fields are never read, and only the corrected words are kept.
